How to Delete WhatsApp Account

How to Delete WhatsApp Account

Ever get that feeling where you're just tired of all the spam you get on WhatsApp and want to remove the app once and for all? That won't solve the spam problem though. Whenever you reinstall WhatsApp, all the groups will be back and the spam will return.

If you leave those WhatsApp groups, people will often just add you back right away and the cycle resumes. A better idea could be to use other apps to keep in touch with those you care about and then permanently delete WhatsApp account. It might seem drastic, but cutting out WhatsApp isn't the end of the world. If that's what you want to do, here's how to delete your WhatsApp account. Follow these steps.

How to delete WhatsApp account

  1. Open WhatsApp and go to Settings.
    • On iOS, this is on the bottom-right of the app's main screen.
    • On Android, tap the three dots on the top-right of the main screen, and tap Settings.
    • On Windows Phone, tap More (three horizontal dots) and tap Settings.
  2. Tap Account.
  3. Tap Delete My Account.
  4. Enter your phone number and tap Delete My Account.
This will permanently delete your WhatsApp account, whether you use WhatsApp on iPhone, Android, Windows Phone or other devices. All WhatsApp data will be removed from your phone and if you've taken a backup of WhatsApp data, that will be deleted too. If you try and create a new WhatsApp account with the same phone number, none of the old data will be available - all your old groups, messages, and so on, will be gone for good.

WhatsApp Now Lets Users See Data It Collects From Them: How to Download and View

WhatsApp Now Lets Users See Data It Collects From Them: How to Download and View

WhatsApp is allowing users to download the data it collects, in compliance with new EU data privacy rules coming into force next month. In wake of the Cambridge Analytica scandal, the popular messaging service owned by Facebook has rolled out the new feature, ahead of the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) law that goes into effect 25 May. The Request Account Info feature is now available for Android beta users, and "will be rolling out to all users around the world on the newest version of the app," the company says.
Earlier this month, amid criticism over data abuse by Facebook, WhatsApp had reassured its users that their data and communications are secured with end-to-end encryption, nobody in between can read messages and listen to calls - not even WhatsApp itself. The company had said that it collects very little data, but speculations suggested that metadata about whom you are talking to, and how often, could still be mined.
With the 'Request your account information' feature, WhatsApp is allowing users to request and export a report of their account information and settings, such as contacts, profile photos, and groups, which can be accessed and ported to another app. The report does not include users' messages. For that, you can export the chat history to your email.
The latest WhatsApp feature is now rolling out to Android beta users. To use the feature, you need to be a WhatsApp beta tester and have the updated app (v2.18.128) installed on the smartphone. If you are looking to join the WhatsApp beta, here are the requisite steps.
Now, open the WhatsApp app and go to Settings. It is available in the three-dotted menu button at the top right corner. Once there, go to Account. Here, you will get a Request account info option. Now, tap on the Request report button. Once clicked, the screen should update to Request sent.

WhatsApp says, your report will be available roughly 3 days after the date requested. In our experience, we received it within the hour, Users can refer to the Ready by date when waiting for their report. It is worth noting that certain actions such as deleting your account, changing your number or handset, or re-registering your account, will cancel the request.

When WhatsApp is ready with your report, it will send a notification to your smartphone stating Your account info is ready to download. Also, the Request account info screen will now tell you how much time - a 1-month window - you have left to download the report, before WhatsApp deletes it from the server.
To download your report, go to Settings > Account > Request account info > Download report. This will automatically download a ZIP file in your handset. The file contains an HTML file that is easy to read and a JSON file that can be ported to another app. Once the report is downloaded, users will have to select Export report, as you will not be able to view the downloaded report within WhatsApp. You will have to export the report to a third-party app. You can also permanently delete the downloaded copy from your smartphone, but it will not delete any of your account's data.

How to Download WhatsApp Beta on iPhone

How to Download WhatsApp Beta on iPhone

Getting on an app’s beta version means access to upcoming features sooner than everyone else, but it could also spell trouble, as these versions of apps aren't necessarily stable. Crashes and lost data are both possibilities when using a beta. That said, WhatsApp beta users do get early access to features well before the others.
We've already talked about installing the WhatsApp beta on Android. Installing WhatsApp beta on an iPhone isn’t as straightforward, which is to say it probably isn’t for everyone. If you’re still determined to go down that route – you are still reading after all – there are some things you should be aware of:
  • WhatsApp doesn’t make use of Apple’s beta testing programme, Testflight. Instead, you’ll need to use third-party software to sideload the beta, as detailed below.
  • Since you’ll be sideloading the WhatsApp beta, it won’t auto-update when the next beta version becomes available. And it’s not linked to the App Store, which means you won’t get updates from there either - you will need to repeat the steps indicated below to download and install new versions of WhatsApp beta for iPhone.
  • You’ll need iTunes. That may not seem like a warning, but it could well be a deal breaker for some.
  • Be prepared to create an additional Apple ID, if you’re wary about giving access to your primary account (see steps below).
Now that we’ve established all that, here’s how you can download and install WhatsApp beta on iPhone:
  1. Uninstall WhatsApp on your iPhone, if you have it. Make sure you backup your WhatsApp data before you proceed, otherwise you will end up losing it completely.
  2. Connect your iPhone to a computer – Windows/ macOS – and launch iTunes on the computer.
  3. Make sure you tell the phone to the trust the computer, when prompted.
  4. Verify that the phone is showing up in iTunes, and then quit iTunes. Keep your iPhone plugged in.
  5. Download the WhatsApp beta from this link.
  6. Download and launch Cydia Impactor.
  7. Drag the WhatsApp IPA file from step 5 to the tiny Cydia Impactor window.
  8. You will be promoted to enter an Apple ID followed by the password. Use your existing one, or create a new one. We recommend the latter, just to be safe.
  9. Cydia Impactor will then install the WhatsApp beta file on your iPhone.
  10. If you try to launch the WhatsApp app beta on your phone right now, you will get an error message.
  11. To fix the error, go to your iPhone's Settings > General > Device Management.
  12. Tap 'Trust <your_Apple_ID>' where your_Apple_ID will be the account you used in step 8.
  13. Go back and launch WhatsApp.
If you follow that correctly, you should be running the latest beta version of WhatsApp, assuming you don’t encounter any errors. Note that syncing message logs and other data between beta and stable versions may not always be possible. If you want to go back to the general build, just delete the beta version, and install WhatsApp from the App Store.

How to Download WhatsApp Beta on Android

Like other apps, WhatsApp relies on beta testers to try out new features before they are rolled out to everyone in a public update. This could be anything from displaying a friend’s current location, live, or the ability to edit messages after you’ve sent them - all these have shown up in beta versions of WhatsApp long before rolling out to a bigger audience. Giving access to upcoming features allows companies – including WhatsApp – to iron out the kinks, without affecting the experience of a billion users worldwide.

The WhatsApp beta test programme for Android is an opt-in scenario, as it rightly should be. If you’re looking to join the WhatsApp beta, we’ve got the requisite steps below. Before that, a caution – new beta versions are issued much more frequently than regular app updates, which can quickly get annoying for some people, and more importantly cause unexpected app crashes. If you’d like to avoid that kind of pickle, you’re better off staying on the general build of WhatsApp.

How to Join WhatsApp Beta for Android

Thanks to Google Play’s in-built beta testing process, it’s pretty easy to get on the beta bandwagon for any Android app. There are two ways to do so – the first, via a browser and the second, directly through Google Play.

  6. Under that section, look for the option called “Leave the program”, and click it.
  7. The next page that opens should mention that “You left the test”.
  8. Uninstall the current WhatsApp beta version, and then reinstall the public build.

  4. Scroll down past the app description, images, and similar apps section to locate the “You’re a beta tester” panel.

How to Create Stickers in WhatsApp: Getting Started With Making Stickers for WhatsApp

How to Create Stickers in WhatsApp: Getting Started With Making Stickers for WhatsApp

WhatsApp finally allows people to send and receive stickers from each other, something other messaging apps added years ago. This new development brings with it an exciting possibility — the ability to create your own WhatsApp stickers. There are multiple ways to create WhatsApp stickers, but the easiest ways are by downloading apps that let you create stickers quickly. We managed to create WhatsApp sticker packs in less than five minutes on iPhone and Android, so the process is really simple.
Before you proceed, it's important to note that the best way to create custom sticker packs is mentioned on the WhatsApp website. There are sample apps provided by WhatsApp where you can make some basic changes and submit them to the App Store or Google Play, making these your own sticker creating apps for WhatsApp. However, this is not a practical option for most people, so we went through all the steps via the easy method and have listed them below.
Please note that these third-party sticker making apps work very well, but we don't know much about their origin and whether these apps will misuse any permissions you grant. We'd think twice before granting third-party apps permissions to your entire photo gallery as that can be misused. If that's fine by you, follow these steps to create your own stickers for WhatsApp.

Follow these steps to make your own WhatsApp sticker packs on Android.

  4. You will see 30 tiles in the next screen. Tap any of these and then you can tap Take PhotoOpen Gallery, or Select File to select pictures. The first option lets you take a picture, the second opens your photo gallery, and the third lets you select images from your file manager.
  5. The next step allows you to cut the picture into a shape. You can select one of Freehand (to draw a shape manually and crop the sticker), Cut square, or Cut circle.
  6. Once you are done cropping, tap Yes, Save Sticker.
  7. Once you have three stickers added, you can tap Add to WhatsApp. You will see a confirmation message on screen once it's been added.
  8. Now open WhatsApp, tap the emoji icon > stickers icon at the bottom. Now you will see your new sticker pack as the last one in the list of sticker packs.
  9. To delete a sticker pack, tap the pack > three dots icon on the top-right > Delete.

WhatsApp Dark Mode Now Available for All: How to Enable It on Android and iPhone

WhatsApp Dark Mode Now Available for All: How to Enable It on Android and iPhone

WhatsApp has finally launched its Dark Mode feature for all Android and iPhone users. It has been in testing phase for about a year and now users can download the latest WhatsApp Messenger update from the Google Play Store and Apple App Store to get the new feature. WhatsApp dark mode has more of a dark grey tone rather than a black background. Android users who are on Android 10 and iPhone users on iOS 13 can get WhatsApp Dark Mode by enabling the Dark Mode in their system settings.
Dark Mode gives users the option to change the theme of the app to something that minimises eye fatigue, as opposed to a brighter background. This is especially helpful in dimly lit environments.

WhatsApp Dark Mode: How to enable it on Android

  1. First, go to the Google Play Store on your phone to download and install the latest version of WhatsApp (2.20.64).
  2. Once the updated WhatsApp version is installed, tap on the three-dot menu icon on the top right and select Settings.
  3. Then, tap on Chats to go into the chat settings.
  4. Next, tap on Theme and it will give you an option to choose the theme for the app.
  5. Tap on Dark and your all set to use WhatsApp Dark Mode.

You will also find a System default option when you tap on Theme which will automatically switch between light and dark mode according to the default system settings.
This manual method is not available for iOS 13 users. And, iPhone users who do not have iOS 13 will not be able to experience WhatsApp's Dark Mode.

WhatsApp Dark Mode: How to enable it on iPhone

  1. sit App Store on you iPhone and download the latest version of WhatsApp (2.20.30).
  2. Next, go to Settings on the phone and find the Display & Brightness option.
  3. Tap on Dark to enable system wide Dark Mode.
  4. Alternatively, you can go to the Control Centre and tap on Dark Mode.
The WhatsApp team shared the details of this update on their blog where they mentioned that the focus for implementing Dark Mode was readability and information hierarchy. By readability, it means using colours that are closer to the system defaults on both platforms, iOS and Android. By information hierarchy, the Facebook owned company means using colours and design elements “to make sure the most important information stands out.”
The Dark Mode update is slowly rolling out to all users and will take a few days to reach everyone.
